Iron Angels (1987) a.k.a. Fighting Madam
THANKS FOR
WATCHING
Angel is one of the greatest of Hong Kong’s 80s action output. Unfortunately, this underseen action masterpiece has been all but forgotten, crushed under the weight of the output of John Woo, Jackie Chan, and Ringo Lam. But I think you’ll fight the film to contain a bevvy of fantastic action set pieces. Gunfights, explosions, martial arts mayhem, and one of the most brutal ending fights of the entire action genre.
Angel may be a lost classic now, but Teresa Woo’s film continued managed to help keep the burgeoning “girls-with-guns” subgenre running strong. It’s influence can be felt in films like In The Line Of Duty III and She Shoots Straight, as well as later movies like So Close.
