In a small bit of news this week, we’ve got some pictures from a few of the more popular members of the Action genre.
First up, we have Vin Diesel, reprising his most interesting role as escaped space convict Richard B. Riddick, in the aptly titled Riddick. In the most resently published production still, we have Diesel recreating the ending moment for The Chronicles Of Riddick, which itself is something of a recreation of the iconic throne pose Arnold Schwarzenegger made famous in 1982’s Conan The Barbarian.
While I think the series went a bit astray in the last installment, I am genuinely looking forward to this new Riddick film. As Diesel and director David Twohy are both aiming for an ‘R’ rating, it should be interesting to see what they achieve. Riddick is targeted for a September 6th release, and also has Karl Urban returning to his role of Vaako. DISCUSS
Grudge Match, the title of an upcoming versus boxing comedy, has given us the first look at the film’s stars, Robert DeNiro and Sylvester Stallone, in their boxing bout. DeNiro looks to be in surprisingly good shape, while Stallone has his tattoos covered for the production. Were it not for the novel idea of having Rocky Balboa fight Jake LaMotta, I wouldn’t be too interested in this one. But it is what it is, and I have got to see what these guys can do at their age.
